Series contains the papers of Myroslav Stechishin (1883-1947). Stechishin, immigrated to Canada from Ukraine in 1902. He edited a socialist newspaper, Robochy Narod (The Working People), in Winnipeg. He later edited Novyny (News) in Edmonton and Narodnia Volia (The People's Will) in Scranton, U.S.A. In 1920, he was briefly in the diplomatic service of the Ukrainian National Republic (1918-1920) and in 1921, succeded Wasyl Kudryk as the editor of Ukrainskyi Holos (The Ukrainian Voice). In 1925, he was one of the founders of the Ukrainian Fraternal Society of Canada, and in 1927, he helped found the Ukrainian Self-Reliance League of Canada. He was also among the founders and prominent leaders of the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church of Canada.
