The series consists of records of the Committee on Christian Vocation (excluding the minutes which are found in the Minutes series), a standing committee of the Canadian Council of Churches concerned with the work of the laity at home and abroad. It comprises reports, general and regional correspondence, correspondence with churches, and correspondence with the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA and other organizations involved in missionary work and foreign relief efforts. There are files relating to ecumenical youth camps, recruitment of volunteers for overseas service, and inquiries and requests about positions available overseas through the World Council of Churches. The files of applicants for overseas work include correspondence, personal assessments, letters of reference, and applications.
