Series consists of records relating to election issues and NDP policy positions. Election readiness and the thoughts of prominent NDP members on the eve of the election can be found in the Election Planning Committee and in the Federal Council files. Newsletters for candidates and campaign managers, and briefs to official agents, were created for each campaign.

Coverage of the 1984 and 1988 campaigns is extensive.

The series also includes 1988 papers documenting the disappointment and shock that was felt at the election results, and thus contain much 'post-mortem' introspective. There are copies of letters, often formulistic, to every NDP Provincial leader, often with the original letter of congratulations attached. Some offer interesting personal comments. The 1988 papers also contain daily media reports documenting the various issues that the NDP encountered during the election campaign. Also of interest is the Bob White file revealing his belief that the NDP had disassociated itself from the real issue of free trade.

The series is arranged chronologically by election campaign.___
