Series consists of papers left in the Arctic Archipelago, 1906-1911, during the three expeditions Bernier commanded. They claim Canadian sovereignty over Arctic Islands, or prove that Bernier was present in certain places. The documents make observations of the progress of the Expeditions, note finding earlier explorers' relics and papers and note ice and weather conditions, geology and fauna. The records were found in several locations on Melville Island, Banks Island, Dealy Island, Baffin Island, Beechy Island and Bathurst Island (Correspondence noting donors' is included in files).

Included in horizontal storage is a facsimile of a plan found by Capt. Bernier at Dealy Island, 1908, container 2.
