Series consists of much of the material found in the Briefing Books and Other Memoranda Series relates to the first Trudeau ministry of 1968-1979. The series illustrates that the PMO was not the only agency charged with the responsibility of advising the Prime Minister. The Privy Council Office, the Federal-Provincial Relations Office and various committees on which PMO staff participated all prepared briefing materials for the Prime Minister and for PMO staff. PMO staff regularly brought information to the Prime Minister's attention and filed this material for possible future use.
