This series contains material relating to a souvenir brochure, a supplemental booklet on the Léger period, two major lecture series and the book Rideau Hall: An Illustrated History of Government House, Ottawa, first published in 1967 as a centennial history and updated in 1977. The terms "Rideau Hall" and "Government House" refer to the same residence.

Correspondence for research purposes, research notes, biographical material on the Governors General of Rideau Hall from 1867, notes on Government House by Norah Michener, correspondence and drawings on design during the Vincent Massey period, excerpts from diaries, lecture notes, book drafts, and correspondence with publishers can be found in this series. Note that photocopied research material dating back to 1837 is included in this series.

Photograph is of a painted portrait of Lady Lisgar, wife of Baron Lisgar, Governor-General 1868-1872. See folder 17, container 2000753262.
