This was the third and successful attempt by Lincoln Ellsworth to make the first trans-continental Antarctic flight. Included are: a holograph diary irregularly kept by Pat Howard between 30 July 1935 and 11 April 1936 with a 1989 typescript copy with editorial additions; a passport issued to Pat Howard by the Canadian Department of External Affairs for use during the expedition; and a scrapbook and assorted news clippings assembled by Pat Howard's mother, Victoria Howard, covering the expedition and later activities of the air crew.Source:PrivateFormer archival reference no.:MG30-B170 -
