It is one of seven files of student data which were used in the evaluation of the pilot study of the Peer Assisted Learning Smoking Prevention Program (PAL program). The study was to measure the attractiveness, durability, ease of use and reading level of the PAL resource material; in addition, it was to determine the strength and weaknesses of the PAL process and to assess the impact of the PAL program, over the short term, on stabilizing smoking prevalence. This particular survey provides information about province school location, smoking data for Grade 7 students (aged 11-13); demographic structure of household; frequency of smoking behaviour; abstinance information; perceptions of other people and their smoking behaviour; use of chewing tobacco; pattern of teachers' smoking behaviour; school programs and policy regarding smoking; smoking behaviour of best friend; peer pressure and smoking behaviour.Provenance:Additional name(s):Additional information:General note:For the codes associated with the first seven variables refer to Abt Associates report, pg. 5.
