This file contains data collected during the CROP Omnibus 84-3 survey. It attempted to acquire information about the opinions of Canadian residents on the most important problems Canadians faced at that time. Some of the questions were about the economy, government spending, the respective roles of government, unions and private industry, expected major expenditures in the next six months, credit habits, interest in the sciences and technology, ownership and usage of micro-computers and attitudes towards them. Other questions dealt with work, working conditions and benefits, habits and opinions on the consumption of alcoholic beverages, living arrangements and home-ownership, opinions on crime and the victims of criminal acts, opinions on the political situation in Quebec and the possibility of independence or sovereignty association (the survey also asks Quebec residents about voting behaviour in the Quebec referendum), international relations between Canada and the United States and between the United States and the Soviet Union, the problem of acid rain, the testing of the American cruise missiles in Canada, federal and provincial voting behaviour, and a variety of socio-demographic questions.
