This file contains tree ring chronology data for various trees in Canada.

The data were collected so present tree ring chronologies could be compared with other forms of proxy data with the purpose of reconstructing past climatic records. An effort was made to collect from the oldest and most climatically sensitive trees on the site. Corollary objectives were to evaluate the dendrochronological quality of trees from this area and to produce tree ring chronologies which could be used for dating purposes.

There are 20 files representing tree ring chronology data for 20 individual trees. As a result, there is one file for each tree sampled at the site.

All 20 files were migrated from a binary data structure and placed on new preservation media in 2016.

CONSERVATION NOTE: Originally, the data base commenced with several identification and scanning information records written in ASCII; now these records are in EBCDIC. In addition, the unloaded database was changed from variable length to fixed length; each record was extended to a physical length of 120 columns.
