This file contains data collected during a national drinking survey. As with the November and December 1976 surveys, the December 1977 drinking survey was intended as a planning and evaluation tool for the Dialogue on Drinking campaign (Phase 2a). The questionnaire from the 1976 survey was modified somewhat to collect additional data concerning the respondents' opinions on health hazards, own drinking in relation to others and spouse, consequences of heavy drinking, and the promotion of moderate drinking. Two questions related to respondents' coping/celebration. Descriptive analysis of the socio-economic and demographic variables (described under G0000367) revealed similar variations (percentages) as the 1976 surveys.
