This data file consists of approximately 500 items relating to work motives, economic goals, humanitarian-social goals, goal conflicts, management practices, background, linguistic skills, job type, salary, etc. which individuals were mainly asked to rank order and compare. The broad framework of the study was to compare and contrast the attitudes (thinking, viewpoints, and values) of English Canadian and French Canadian managers and supervisors of large industrial companies and not to study their attitudes toward each other on these matters. Within this broad reference, research was directed more specifically toward three major realms: (1) managers and supervisors attitudes toward business goals, (2) their attitudes toward managing people, with particular references to leadership styles, and (3) their work motivations. This study was also carried out with small industries (G0000344) and students of business schools (G0000345).
