This report data set results from the second stage of CFPARU's research into the transition to civilian life among Canadian Forces members. The aim of the project was to acquire systematic information on those factors which hinder and/or facilitate transition to civilian life, and to use this information in the progressive change of current relocation assistance programmes. The major underlying assumption in the work was that a relocation assistance programme which permits a relatively trouble-free transition to civilian life for the largest possible number of military leavers will enhance the Forces' ability to recruit, motivate, and retain personnel now and in the future, especially in those trades and classifications which have no civilian counterparts.
