This file consists of data collected during a survey regarding job satisfaction and organizational commitment in the Canadian Forces. The study included five measures of job satisfaction relating to the nature of the work itself, adequacy of pay, prospects for promotion, nature of one's supervisors, and nature of one's co-workers which were investigated in conjunction with measure of degree of personal commitment to the Forces. The subjects were 164 junior military personnel employed at three Canadian Forces Bases.

SAMPLING METHODOLOGY: The subjects for this study were 164 junior personnel at the rank of private who were given a questionnaire during their first term of post-training employment. Job tenure ranged between six months to four years while subject ages range from 18 to 25 years. All were employed on one of three large military bases in a variety of jobs, including administrative clerk, driver, mechanic, accounting clerk and supply clerk. The sample parameters were that subjects must be privates in a support function on one of the three bases.
