This file contains data collected during an officer motivation study. The aim of this study was to identify those factors influencing officer job satisfaction which could form the basis for future personnel policies. It was also seen as a test of the Herzberg Motivation-Hygiene Theory. This study includes twelve files. The first (OB) comprises biographical data. This is followed by a series of critical incident files as follows: OD Dissatisfied, OE Effective, OI Ineffective, OK Why Satisfied, OL Why Dissatisfied, OM Why Effective, ON Why Ineffective, OS Satisfied. These are followed by the: Porter Questionnaire, Importance Questionnaire and Rank Order Questionnaire.

The first twelve data sets on the archival tape are the files described above. The thirteenth data set is an SAS data library (OS 82.4). The fourteenth contains a copy of the documentation using standard carriage control characters and including lower case characters. The fifteenth contains the input used to create this documentation using Waterloo SCRIPT (Release 3.7).
