Three volumes of bound correspondence, dated 1828-1835 (reel A-423), 1835-1840, and 1841-1849 (reel A-424) respectively. These contain Bayfield's letters to the Hydrographic Department on his surveys of the St. Lawrence River, Lac St. Pierre, the harbour of Quebec and Montreal, the Saguenay River, the southern coast of Labrador and strait of Belle Isle, the islands in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, various rivers of New Brunswick, and the coastlines of Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, and northern Newfoundland. In chronological order, with a table of contents for 1830-1835 only (bound at beginning of 1835).
