Series consists of reports of the Survey Committee. The Survey Committee was charged with the responsibility of studying social work in Montreal as it affected the interests of the Financial Federation. The Financial Federation, in December of 1933, invited the formation of a committee representative of the Executive and Budget Committees of the Financial Federation and the Executive Committee of the Montreal Council of Social Agencies.

The Survey Committee issued its report in seven sections: an interim report on the Financial Federation and the Montreal Council of Social Agencies; a report on child care and protection; group work in recreation and informal education; health services; family welfare and problems of adult dependency; certain other agencies; and final observations and recommendations.
