Sound commentary narrated by Jim Stowell, accompanying the lecture film, Ice Off Starboard. 1. James Stowell's lectures for his film ICE OFF STARBOARD (see ISN 126700). See also ISN # 126701, re-edited short version.~2. A crew consisting of 17 people formed the expedition to the coast of Labrador.~3. Ice Off Starboard was created as a form of day to day log by James Stowell.~4. Davis Inlet was a Naskapi community formerly inhabited by the Mushuau Innu First Nation. In 1948, the Newfoundland Government relocated the Innu of Davis Inlet to Nutak in northern Labrador, where they made their way back home. In 1967, the Innu of Davis Inlet moved and settled on Iluikoyak Island on a year-round basis, establishing the Davis Inlet community known as Utshimasits. In 2002, the community of Davis Inlet was relocated to Natuashish.
