Series consists of files of manuscripts and typescripts largely relating to published collections of poems by Brewster, including Lillooet, Passage of Summer, Sunrise North, In Search of Eros, Sometimes I Think of Moving, The Way Home, Digging In, Selected Poems and Entertaining Angels. The material relating to each publication includes drafts of individual poems as well as copies of the final versions in various arrangements for publication; note that the contents of Brewster's own files of early drafts were kept intact, although in some cases this means that poems not actually included in a particular collection may be found with those that were.

Additional material consists of poems submitted to Oberon for Spring Again [1989].

The series also includes manuscript drafts of the poems published in Wheel of Change and Garden Sculpture, as well as some new poems. Also included are some fair copies of poems published in Footnotes to the Book of Job.

Arrangement note:

The files have been organized by each publication's title, and the titles are arranged chronologically. Some loose manuscripts and typescripts of individual poems which have not yet appeared in a published collection are arranged at the beginning of this series as "Miscellaneous Poems"; included in this sub-series are two oversize broadsides containing Brewster poems (these are stored in the horizontal filing cabinet).
