This sub-series of Post 51 consists of contracts for sea mail transport between Great Britain and North America, packets or volumes 2-5, 7-12, 15-17, 30, 31, 34 37-39, 41-46, 55, 61, 65, 67, 70-72, 74, 78, 79, 81 and 82. Also included are a few contracts for services to the West Indies, Central and South America, the Pacific, including Australia and New Zealand; southern and east Africa, and Hong Kong. The texts of the contracts specify standards of service such as routes, ports of call, scheduling, equipment, and mail handling facilities as well as the usual consideration and liability clauses. This material is available on microfilm reels A-1360 to A-1361.
