The sub-series, Packets, volumes 24 to 30, relates to the establishments (staff, organization and job descriptions) of the Quebec City sorting office, post offices at Montreal, Toronto, Kingston, and Three Rivers, and post offices in New Brunswick (Queenstown, Sandwich, Prescott, Stanstead, and Woodstock), 1842. Prepared for but not published in the "Report of the Commissions Appointed to Enquire Into the Affairs of the Post Office in British North America" (1841), which appears as sub-appendix F of the Appendix to Vol. 5 of the Journals of the Legislative Council of the Province of Canada (1846). This material is available on microfilm reel A-1359.
