Duplicate contemporary copies of Ordinances passed by the governor and Council of Nova Scotia, 1749-1753 (volume 3; pages 1-337) and of Acts passed by the Legislature, 1770-1782 (volume 4, pages 1-297 and volume 5, pages 1-333). Annotations on the Acts indicate the date they were passed in the Legislature and given Royal Assent by the governor, or referred to London for the King's approval. Richard Bulkeley, the Secretary of Nova Scotia, endorsed individual texts as true copies, with his signature in the margin.

The Great Seal Deputed for Nova Scotia was attached to these statutes before their transmission to London. Annotations on many texts (especially in volume 5) record the removal of those seals and their ribbons from the documents. The slots through which the ribbons passed are evident. Other annotations were made on these texts in the course of their being identified as duplicates of texts then in BTNS Acts (now CO 219).

Volume 3 contains Ordinances numbered 1 to 59. Volumes 4-5 contain Acts numbered 171-346, but numbers 179, 187, 215, 219, 235, 238, 258 and 291 are wanting and the last two dozen texts are out of numerical sequence.
