Series consists of correspondence, 1814-1877, and miscellaneous papers, 1807-1871, of Dr. Alexander James Christie and his sons, Alexander the contractor, and Thomas Alexander, volumes 1-8.

Dr. Christie was proprietor of the Bytown Gazette, 1836-1843, and was also secretary of the Bytown Board of Health during the cholera epidemic of 1832.

The series also includes a genealogy of the Christie family in horizontal storage, container 39.
