Only a few Addresses, Motions, Minutes, Bills, Reports, Resolutions and other documents from the period 1841-1864 are known to survive and have been formed into this series. As well as some correspondence of the Speaker and the Clerk, the series includes certain records of the Standing Committee on Emigration and Colonization relating to policy and practice in Upper and Lower Canada, 1792-1864. The arrangement of the series was reviewed in 1988, when documents found astray in C 1 and other series were moved into this series.

The texts of many of these documents will be found in the printed Journals or with the sessional papers in their Appendices.
