Series consists of material relating to Cutt's study of Ontario architecture, and Canadian art, and to his article, "The Old Scottish Architecture of Ontario", published in The Canadian Geographical Journal, 1949. Included is correspondence, a notebook, notes, architectural drawings, manuscripts and printed reference material, including a copy of the pamphlet Kingston and its Vicinity by "Fidelis" ca: [1884].

Series contains four architectural drawings showing the front elevation, basement, ground and first floor plans of the Edward Horsey residence, Brock Street, Kingson, built ca. 1851.

Biography/Administrative history:

Cutts, Anson Bailey : Anson Bailey Cutts was educated at Cambridge and Yale before becoming the executive secretary of the Association of Canadian Bookmen 1935-1938, and editor of its Reading Guide Quarterly. Cutts served in the United States Army during W.W.II but returned to Canada ca. 1946 to pursue his studies of Canadian architecture at the University of Toronto. He returned to the United States in the late 1940's and spent most of the rest of his life in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
