Surrender by the Six Nations Indians, of 15,360 acres in Haldimand County, to William Claus in recognition of his service as their Trustee, 3 August 1826. The deed bears the totemic signatures of 54 sachems and chief warriors. A substitution photocopy of the document, plus a copy of the text as printed in the Niagara Historical Society Publication No. 30 pages 48-49, reproduction, are available in volume 28 for general research purposes. The original document has been redesignated volume 33 and shelved in a horizontal cabinet.
