The series consists of a transcript of the register of baptisms and marriages of the Church of Scotland parish of Lochiel Township, 1820-1911, that was made by the donor Mary Beaton. The transcription follows the pages and lines of the original and is paginated (332 p.) and includes explanatory notes and an index to the register, made by her in 1974 (62 p.).

Note that the entries for 1909-1911 which are placed at the end of the transcript (pp. 329-332) are actually found in the original register in the middle of entries for 1857 (i.e. between pp. 258-262 of the transcript).
