This series covers the publication of Stursberg's first three books, "Journey Into Victory" (London: George Harrap, 1944), "Agreement in Principle" (London: Longmans', 1961), "Those Were the Days: the Days of Benny Nicholas and the Lotus Eaters" (Toronto: Peter Martin, 1969), and related, unpublished works. For "Journey Into Victory", the series contains only a bound, corrected author's manuscript. For "Agreement in Principle", or "Journey in the Cold War", its early working title, the files are more substantial. These include a first draft of a projected novel, "Berlin, 1948-1949", early typescript drafts, outline notes, source material, and background papers.

Series also includes subsequent drafts, a bound original author's manuscript, page proofs, and reviews and publicity material. This third book began life as a novel, "Lament for a Lost Aileen", evolved into an autobiographical novel, "The Lotus Eaters", and was finally published as autobiographical memoir of life in Victoria in the 1930s, "Those Were the Days". The series includes several typescript drafts of "Lament for a Lost Aileen" and "The Lotus Eaters", background papers, a corrected author's manuscript of "Those Were the Days", and files of reviews and publisher's correspondence, including the book contract.

Oversize material has been placed in volume 39.
