In 1865, she married the Hon. James George Currie, and during his incumbency as Registrar of Lincoln County, was appointed Deputy Registrar. She held this position for several years. Mrs. Currie was a supporter of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and an advocate of women' suffrage as well as one of the founders of the Protestant Children's Orphan Home of St. Catherines, Ontario.
