Series consist of dramas for radio or television, as well as scripts for educational series which make use of the dramatic form. Written primarily for broadcast over the CBC, both the radio dramas as well as the educational series concentrate on Canada. The dramas for television concentrate on European affairs. Generally, the purpose of the works tends to be didactic, be this, as in the case of "Fiddle Joe's Yarns" to develop French Canadian character types so as to explain French Canada to other Canadians, or, as in the case of the history series, to teach history to radio listeners, or, as in the case of "Miroslav's Four Seasons" to examine life under the communist system for a Western audience.
