A unit of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police returns to urban life after a long period of duty in the Arctic among the Inuit. In this newsreel clip, partly filmed in Canada's Arctic, there are views of an arctic village; of the Inuit population there; of icebergs; and of the government supply ship "Ookickshua" anchored in Pond Inlet. Also, there is a portrait shot of the RCMP unit in dress uniform. The clip incorporates footage from BACK TO BAFFIN, a film shot by George H. Valiquette in 1925 (with supplementary footage by shot by Richard Finnie). Inuit children in caribou atigi (inner parkas); women in amoutik parkas; and an elderly Inuk woman in a sealskin qullitag (outer parka) softening boots with her teeth. <1mn>
