Series consists of correspondence exchanged by the Canadian artist William Kurelek and Kenneth Shorey, including 128 autograph letters signed from Kurelek and 61 carbon copies or photocopies of Shorey's replies. The correspondence includes discourses on art, religion and politics, records events in Kurelek's personal life, and documents his career as a painter and writer. Included are typed transcripts of the correspondence prepared by Kurelek's biographer, Patricia Morley. Also included are some manuscript notes by Kurelek and a photocopy of his travel diary of his 1970 trip to the Ukraine, as well as correspondence exchanged by Shorey and Kurelek's widow, Jean, in 1977.
