Series consists of the correspondence of Robert, Charles and George Rooke, including letters about the Rooke brothers' military service in South Africa with the Strathcona's Horse 1900-1901 and the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles, 1901-1902, accounts of their voyages to South Africa; lists of military kit and accounts of various skirmishes and operations. Of particular interest is Charles Rooke's account of his experiences at the Battle of Boschbult or Harts River, 31 March, 1902.
