Series consists of papers relating to R. Stobo's claim to the seigniory of Aux Loutres on Lake Champlain, 1769-1773. Included are copies of his commission as captain in the 15th Regiment, 1760, p. 2; his memorial to Lord Hillsborough, 1769, with a statement of his services, pp. 3-5; letter of George Allsopp to David Richardson, 1773, enclosing accounts relative to his inheritance of Stobo's estate, pp. 6-8; the original grant to J.-P. D. de Muy, 1752 pp. 9-12; and the deed of sale to Stobo, 1767 pp. 13-17. The seigniory lay in New York according to the boundary established by the peace treaty of 1763.
