The series consists of records relating to Rev. James Stewart's ministry at Union Church (White Mud River, Manitoba) organized in three files. The first file (file 6) includes memoranda regarding the congregation's request to the Presbytery of Manitoba to leave Stewart to supply the Palestine field for another year, 1879, and a question of conscience regarding travelling on the sabbath. The second file (file 7) holds a return of answers to queries of the Presbytery regarding the state of religion, 1879; a transfer of membership for David B. Fulton from Portaupique, Nova Scotia, 2 May 1879; and four marriage licences, 1880-1888. The third file (file 8) consists of a register of baptisms, marriages and burials, 1876-1884, which was previously catalogued in MG9, E5-3, under the title of Marquette West, Manitoba, Presbyterian Circuit.
