Television program hosted by Douglas Fairbanks previewing the royal wedding of Princess Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise to Captain Mark Anthony Peter Phillips and outlining its historical context. On location where the ceremony and procession will take place, Fairbanks describes the wedding preparations; historical aspects of the route from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey; and events in the lives of Anne's ancestors. Footage of Anne and Mark on horseback along with interviews of the couple, and of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Phillips (parents of the groom), suggest the qualities and interests that brought them together. Archival footage includes: the weddings of Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret; a suffragette jumping in front of King George V's horse; the coronation of King George VI; Prince Charles on stage in college comedy roles; and Anne as a child during various royal events. Additional noteworthy shots of a stamp bearing an image of the royal couple and the house at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst where they will live.
