The series consists of Massey Foundation by-laws, sale and trust agreements, and files of correspondence to and from the Foundation's lawyers. The files include incoming and outgoing correspondence, financial statements, draft and final minutes, and Revenue Canada forms. Records in this series document the provision of legal advice by its lawyers to the Massey Foundation on a variety of issues. Of note are the files relating to the change of directors and counsel subsequent to the establishment of the Quadrangle Fund in 1966 and a change of counsel again from Ottawa to Toronto lawyers in 1979. Many of the other files deal to a large extent with routine legal housekeeping and administration.
