Series consists of records on projects largely completed during the period 1970 to 1975. They tended to concentrate on a geographical knowledge of Canada providing additional publications, films for students and teacher guides. Some of the notable projects were the Geography of Canada Project, the Peterborough-Quebec Project, Project Atlantic Canada and Project Canada West.

Also included in this series are sub-projects of projects, such as the Newfoundland-Labrador Canada Studies sub-project, the Profat (Projet des francophones de l'Atlantique) of the Project Atlantic Canada. There were several social and art projects in the first phase projects including the Labour-Management Project and the Literature and Art Project.
