The series consists of textual records, videocassettes, and a sound recording relating to the annual conferences of the Canadian Anthropology Society. The textual files hold correspondence and other records relating to the planning and hosting of the conference; selection of venues; financial arrangements; proposals of topics and papers; selection of distinguished speakers and invitations; biographical information on presenters; printed conference programs; and printed abstracts of papers presented at the conference. There are also registration kits for a few conferences and some lists of members in attendance.

The series also holds a sound recording of an address by Dr. Alexander Leighton at the Dalhousie Faculty Club during the annual conference in 1977; and four videocassettes of presentations from the session on "Ethnonationalism in the Soviet North and Canadian North" on 5 May 1990 at the 17th annual conference. Speakers in the latter session included Bernard Saladin D'Anglure, Michael Ash, Asen Balicki, P. I. Puchkov, and Valery Tishkov.
