The sub-series consists of clippings, correspondence, greeting cards, telegrams, printed items and other material relating to Timothy Findley's parents, Margaret Maude and Allan G. Findley, and to his aunt Margaret Findley and his uncle T. Irving Findley. Included are manuscripts of stories and articles kept by his mother and scrapbooks kept by his parents, containing correspondence from Findley. Also included is original poetry by Findley's brother, Michael.

The sub-series consists of a number of family albums that contain photographs depicting the family of Timothy Findley. Timothy Findley credited the family albums for the creative development of many of his artistic ideas. Family portraits were used to illustrate both the hardcover and paperback editions of "The Piano Man's Daughter". The majority of the selected photographs have been identified by Bill Whitehead.

The sub-series also includes a formal portrait of Timothy Findley as a baby and one of his brother as a young child.
