The first accrual consists of files on Alberta Theatre Projects, Playwrights Co-op, school workshops and the Toronto Cultural Advisory Corporation. Also included are files relating to awards, contracts, grants, research material, résumés, reviews, and to Bolt's husband, the actor David Bolt.
Additional material consists of a broad range of files relating to Carol Bolt's career and playwriting in Canada in general, containing correspondence, scripts, financial records, minutes, reports, clippings and other printed material. Included are files on her plays; files on writers' associations, such as the Playwrights Union of Canada (Guild of Canadian Playwrights and Playwrights Canada) and ACTRA, as well as the Toronto Arts Council; a few files relating to writing in residence and her readings; files of reviews relating to many of her plays; and correspondence files. The additional material contains documentation on Bolt's interest in various projects and issues, such as the Public Lending Right Commission, pornography, Amnesty International and Greenpeace.
Further additional material consists of files on Carol Bolt's participation in workshops, conferences and festivals, including files on the Canadian Centre for Advanced Film Studies; Labrador Arts Festival (see Festivals files), International Women Playwrights Conferences and Playwrights Workshop Montreal (see Workshops files). There are also files relating to the production of her work, including files on the Canadian Opera Company and CBC. There are files documenting her teaching, including ones on Algonquin College, Concordia University, Ryerson and York University (see Teaching files). There are files on her role as a juror for grants and awards, and on her own seeking of funding, including files on the Canada Council, Chalmers Award, Dora Mavor Moore Awards, Foundation for the Recognition of Excellence in Drama, Governor General's Awards, Ontario Arts Council and Telefilm Canada. There are files on theatres on whose boards she sat, including Equity Showcase Theatre and Nightwood Theatre. There are files on her involvement with arts organizations, including Cancopy, Guild of Canadian Playwrights and Public Lending Right Commission, as well as a group of files on the Playwrights Union of Canada. The series also includes files of Bolt's contracts and royalty statements, résumés and biographical material. There are extensive files of plays by other writers (see Other People's Plays files), some related to her work as a teacher and others submitted to her for comment, many with her annotations. There is one posthumous file, relating to the memorial Carol Bolt Drama Award, created in 2001 by the Canadian Authors Association.
