The series (for the earlier instalments) includes seven sub-series of manuscripts by P.K. Page arranged into the following groups: manuscript notebooks, collected poems, uncollected poems, scripts and plays, published short stories, unpublished fiction, and critical and autobiographical writings; and also includes additional manuscripts received subsequently and simply arranged alphabetically by title.
The additional material includes manuscripts, notes and drafts relating to Page's travel book, 'Brazilian journal', the fairy tales 'A Flask of sea water', 'The Goat that flew' and 'Sky tree', a children's book based upon her mother's drawings 'Wisdom from nonsense land', a short story 'Birthday', the puppet show 'Prince Attila's journey to the end of the world', and the collections of poetry 'The Glass air' and 'Hologram'. Also included are typescripts of a memoir relating to the artist Maxwell Bates, a file labelled 'Anthology. Flying things', with transcripts of other writers' work and Page's notes, possibly intended for an anthology (see also 'Angels' reference files in the Subject files series). There is a file of early work, dating from the 1930s, including two pages containing five poems that appear to have been removed from one of her early manuscript notebooks, some typescript poems with Page's annotations (one bearing the address Rothesay, N.B.), a short story 'The Middleman', a block print Christmas card and a caricature of an artist by Page.
Included in horizontal storage: "Travelling Musicians", 1982, container 41.
Additional material includes manuscripts relating to A Kind of Fiction and to Page's collaboration with Philip Stratford, And Once More Saw the Stars, as well as manuscripts relating to adaptations of her travel journals. Also included are drafts of an essay published in Western Living Magazine and files of miscellaneous prose and poetry drafts. One file contains short stories, many of which were later published together in Up on the Roof. There are manuscript notebooks containing poetry and prose and a commonplace book containing notes on poetry and the imagination.
For the later instalments (2006-0941, 2007-0872, 2008-1147, and 2010-0154), additional manuscript and typescript material includes finished and unfinished prose works such as "Traveller, Conjuror, Journeyman: Selected Non-Fiction of P.K. Page," sections from "Australian Journal" and "The Filled Pen," "Nine Stories and a Play," "You are Here," typescripts of "Jake the Baker," and a number of early, unfinished, and uncategorized works. Poetry files include drafts and proofs for "Hand Luggage" (a memoir in verse), "To Arthur on his 100th birthday," and several files comprised of early and unarranged, often unfinished, poetry drafts.
The later instalment (2010-0191) includes manuscripts and drafts of various poetry and prose works, such "The Sky Tree," autobiographical notes, and notes on a history of Preview magazine.
