The series consists of correspondence received by P.K. Page from writers and artists and other correspondents, arranged in alphabetized and nominal files. Among the correspondents in the earlier instalments are Elizabeth Brewster, George Johnston, Philip Stratford, George Woodcock, Michael Ondaatje, Jane Urquhart, Eve Egoyan, Cynthia Messenger and Mimi Fogt. Other correspondents include Murray Adaskin, Margaret Atwood, Joy Coghill, Stan Dragland, Mona Fertig, Doris Lessing, Grant Munro, Susan Musgrave, Stephen Reid, Mark Strand, Miriam Waddington and Donald Winkler. Also included are miscellaneous files containing letters from students and fan mail as well as letters from some unidentified or uncategorized correspondents.

Additional records consist predominantly of alphabetical files of correspondence but also include several files of miscellaneous correspondence as well as a few nominal files. Among the correspondents are Doris Anderson, Peter Buitenhuis, Louise Fabiani, Steven Heighton, Derek Holman, Lesley Krueger, Farouk Mitha, Tedde Moore, Erin Mouré, Diane Schoemperlen, Carolyn-Marie Souaid, Mary Swan, David Stouck, Chase Twichell, Francesca Valente and Patrick Watson. Nominal files include ones for Gavin Bryars, Denise du Maurier and Brian Trehearne. Several nominal files were created during processing when the extent of correspondence warranted it - these nominal files include ones for Sigrid Renaux, Rachel Wyatt, Marguerite Stephenson and Carol Matthews. Included in oversize files is correspondence from Joe Plaskett (vol. 63) and a birthday card (vol. 73). Also included in the series is a file containing letters of condolence on the death of Arthur Irwin, as well as files of birthday and greeting cards.

Art and photos found within correspondence files in volumes 60-62; 71-72; 80; 88; and 98-99 have been removed and re-filed in volumes 116 and 118. The art includes 2 serigraph prints, both by Tony Tascona, with titles Joy (numbered 30/160), dated 2000, and Silver Tree II, dated 1998, and 2 pencil drawings by Denise du Maurier, dated 1998.
