Series consists of substantial records for Gondemar Preceptory No. 16 and Raymond Dupuis Priory, Brockville, Ont. These comprise minutes, 1884-1972 (files 31-37); membership records, 1872-1941 (files 38-41 and 44); financial records, 1877-1941 (42-43 and 45); and a history of the preceptory, ca.1987 (file 21). Also included are the records for Ottawa Preceptory No. 32, which comprise minutes, 1894-1971 (files 4-16); membership records, 1893-1915, 1922 (files 4, 19); by-laws, 1893-1965 (files 4, 17).
Series also consists of an enamel-gilt badge, n.d.; a photocopy of a mounted photograph of the warrant of constitution issued to the preceptory in 1896 to replace the warrant of 1893 that had been destroyed by fire; and three miscellaneous items, 1916-1936, which include one relating to a Special Assembly on 3 May 1916 (file 20). Also included are an undated enamel-gilt cross pendant relating to this preceptory, a blank and undated badge and two past preceptor's collars and jewels pertaining to the Em. Kt. R.G. Madill, 1942, and to the V.E. Kt. Rev. Canon L.F. Crothers, 1956.
Also included are a number of miscellaneous items: historical notes (including excerpts from the minutes), 1926-1987, pertaining to Bethlehem Preceptory No. 69, Nanaimo, B.C. (file 55); a centennial banquet programme, 1980, pertaining to King Edward Preceptory and Priory No. 24, Winnipeg, Man. (file 56); a bill for regalia, 1907, pertaining to Offanto Preceptory No. 40, Owen Sound, Ont., with the grand historian's comment, 1989, upon it (file 61); a ritual, 1867, with annotations and a covering letter, 1868, from William James Bury McLeod Moore (fl.1831-d.1890) (file 62), and by-laws, 1922 (file 63), both pertaining to Plantagenet Preceptory No. 8, St. Catharines, Ont.; and by-laws, 1969, pertaining to William de la More the Martyr Preceptory No. 25, Quebec, Que. (file 66).
In addition, there are several preceptory histories, for preceptories in Bridgetown, N.S., 1930 (file 23); Halifax, N.S., ca.1982 (file 57); Belleville, Ont., 1961 (file 58); Guelph, Ont., ca. 1969 (file 59); Hamilton, Ont., 1964 (file 60); Toronto, Ont., ca.1954 and ca.1979 (file 64); and Regina, Sask., 1988 (file 67). Other preceptory histories that were transferred in 1988 to the Library of the National Archives of Canada pertain to preceptories in Moncton, N.B., ca.1979; Belleville, Ont., ca.1956; Oshawa, Ont., 1972; St. Catharines, Ont., 1966; and Montreal, Que. (for both Richard Coeur de Lion No. 7, 1963, and Melita No. 63, 1970).
