Series comprises letterpress copies of Wright`s correspondence while he was a member of the General Executive Board of the Knights of Labor and after he lost his position. The letters of the first two books are concerned primarily with executive matters or local problems in the United States; those of the third book deal with attempts to organize opposition to the new executive and with Wright`s private business affairs. There is a great deal of correspondence with T.V. Powderly and some with J.S. Carroll, J.W. Hayes, E.V. Debs, and other prominent American labour leaders. Only a few deal with Canadian matters. The Canadian correspondents include Robert Glocking, Secretary of District Assembly 125 (Toronto); Sir John Thompson, Minister of Justice; A.T. Lepine, Labour Member of Parliament; and W.R. Meredith, Conservative opposition Leader in Ontario. There is an index by correspondent to the 1894-1895 letterbook.
