Sub-series consists of files on national and international (US-based) unions affiliated with the CLC. The files focus on organizational issues, such as organizing, certification, jurisdictional questions, negotiations, strikes, appeals for support, CLC policies and services, internal disputes, mergers, and affiliation with the CLC. The files contain correspondence, reports, minutes, proceedings, constitutions, lists of officers, legal papers, collective agreements, financial records, print matter, mailing lists, and other material.

Arrangement note:

The CLC often maintained files on affiliated unions in separate blocks for national and international unions. This structure has been preserved where it existed.

Availability of other formats note:

Certain files available as originals were microfilmed by the CLC as part of its records management programme. The microfilm version of these files was acquired by the National Archives separately from the originals. See Appendix "D" of finding aid MSS492 (part 1) for the details. While the originals and microfilm correspond closely, researchers should not assume that they are identical.
