The series comprises records relating to Sharman's Iota Sigma seminars which met annually, usually at Camp Minnesing in Algonquin Park, to study the life of Jesus from the records. It includes printed announcements of the seminars; file cards on participants; correspondence with applicants and participants; notes and transcriptions of seminar discussions; handbook for group study; correspondence regarding formation of Iota Sigma study groups following the demise of the Seminars; tributes on birch bark scrolls and other memorabilia. The correspondence provides considerable insight into the goals of the seminars and the process of recruitment, and eloquent testimony of their profound impact on the participants. Complete transcriptions of some of the seminar discussions provide an excellent basis for understanding the process of group study and Sharman's unique teaching methods. In addition, there are three bound registers of seminar participants with biographical information filled out by the participant. Some of the participants included are James A. Gibson, Eugene Forsey, Neil M. Morrison, Henry W. Luce, N. A. M. Mackenzie, Wilfrid J. Jackson, and James G. Endicott, among many others.
