Home movie of an expedition of prospectors to Great Bear Lake and Eldorado Mine. Footage includes: contingency seeing off group of prospectors; views of Fort Resolution on Great Slave Lake; members of First Nations community (natives), missionaries and school children, and a fur press owned by the Hudson's Bay Company, used to bail furs; aerial views of Fort Rae on the North Arm of Great Slave Lake, Northwest Territories; members of Tlicho Nation (also referred to as Dog Rib or Dogrib Indians) during Treaty Day(s); youngsters playing games; terrain, lakes and approaches to Great Bear Lake; scenery along the way to Cameron Falls on 18 July 1933; trading post, "Murphy Services Limited" and post office; the last footage of the motor schooner, Speed, before she blew up in the fall of 1933; sign stating that the area has been set aside for a public park (most probably the designation of Wood Buffalo National Park?); the El Dorado Mine at Great Slave Lake, and men posing; scenes on the way back to Cameron Falls; the Hudson's Bay Company post "Fort Smith" and an Arctic supply ship, paddlewheeler Northland Echo, Kenora, at the wharf; "from Fort Smith to Aklavik at the mouth of the McKenzie"; footage of Cooking Lake, Alberta, a summer resort near Edmonton, and wharf, ship leaving Cameron Bay; throughout the film are shots of a seaplane moored to shores, wharves, etc. <19mn 41s>
