Series consists of correspondence and accounts of John Bradstreet with King and Charles Gould. Subjects include: military operations against the French and Indians in North America, particularly the defence of Oswego, 1756, the capture of Fort Frontenac, 1758, and the expedition to relieve Detroit, 1764; accounts for the garrison of St. John's, Newfoundland, 1751 to 1774; personal profit and preferment; and John Bradstreet's estate matters. The extensive correspondence concerning the estate of John Bradstreet includes letters and accounts with Bradstreet's widow Mary, his daughters Martha Bradstreet and Agatha Buttar (later Du Bellamy), and his step-children Samuel Bradstreet and Elizabeth Livius, the children of Major Samuel Bradstreet.
