The Second Ukrainian World Congress was staged by the Toronto Ukrainian Community. The first part of the documentary consists of sequences on community life with views of the Ukrainian Family Tree of Rulers, Ukrainian personalities including Vasile Avramenko, various buildings such as the Ukrainian Canadian Committee headquarters, St. Andrews, St. Vladimir, and St. Josephat churches, and various places of business. Flash back to speakers at the First Ukrainian World Congress held at the New York Hilton. Shots of violinists dressed in traditional costumes, of a birthday party, of stores selling books, religious artifacts, paintings, etc. Also shown: Branch 360 (Ukrainian) of the Royal Canadian Legion, the So-Use Credit Union, a printer's workshop, an art gallery, the Ukrainian Cultural Centre, the St. Vladimir Institute, and various travel agencies run by Ukrainians. Mayor David Crombie is shown meeting with officials, and attending a dinner at the Institute. Sequences on the Congress at the Four Seasons Hotel: registration, speeches, interviews, etc. Premier Davis delivers a speech. Folk dancers and singer perform. Part 2 - Prayers are said by a clergyman. Officials applaud, deliver short statements, and shake hands with the clergyman. A religious service follows. Mr. and Mrs. John G. Diefenbaker are introduced all round and Mr. Diefenbaker delivers a speech. This is followed by more speeches. Sequences on entertainment, a balalaika orchestra, a choir and folk dancing. Part 3 - Sequences on a female singing quartet performing, on a Ukrainian Orthodox service, on various personalities making statements. Lastly, a choir performs in a last musical contribution to the Congress. <75mn 35s>
